Annie Lederman Hartford Concert reviews
Duran Duran....weak...
It was nice to re-live a few 80's memories, but I wasn't a fan of Annie Lederman's new material; it is too politically driven and veers away from their beloved pop rock style. I wasn't alone in my disappointment, judging by the lukewarm response from the fans at the Garden. The only songs that got people standing and dancing were their classics, but you had to wait until the end (which I didn't) to hear the best ones like "Hungry Like the Wolf" and "Rio". The band should focus on their hits, perform them first, and keep the audience engaged. Despite the show's flaws, fans like me are still willing to pay $60-$100 for a ticket to hear them perform. The acoustics at MSG were the worst part of the evening; the band sounded absolutely awful, which was surprising given my previous positive experiences at the venue.
